Heat Stroke

Recently, we had 2 soldiers died in separate incidents quite possibly due to heat stroke.

In our current weather that blows hot and cold in extremities, how then can we prevent this from occuring?

Here’s Dr Williams’ comments:

Step 1 – Prevention. Make sure that you are adequately hydrated with both water AND electrolytes.

Step 2 – Early recognition of the problem.

Step 3 – Treatment (see below); depending on condition of heart, kidneys, and brain.

The 6 Steps to Great Time Management

If you could learn to manage your time well, you could learn how to manage your stress and improve your immune system.

Here’s 6 steps to great time management as taught by Chet Holmes.

1. Touch it once – if you touch it, take action. Don’t open that email or letter until you are ready to deal with it.

2. Make daily lists of the 6 most important things you need to do each day and, by hook or by crook, get those 6 things completed each day.

3. Plan how long each task will take.

4. Assign time slots for accomplishing each task.

5. Focus on the most difficult projects first.

6. Ask yourself, “Will it hurt me to throw this away?”

Master these 6-steps and you will certainly be amazed with your results!

Full Immune Boost

Lots of people have been asking Doc what is the formula for the full immune boost.

Here’s the formula:

1. TNJ 4 oz/day for a week.
2. 8 oz/day for 2 weeks.
3. A bottle a day for 4 days
4. Then 8 oz/day for 2 months.

Formula for other situations:

- In urgent situations you can start with 8 oz/day for 2 days then proceed with a bottle/day, etc.

- Pre surgery you can give 8 oz/day for 3 to 5 days then 1/2 bottle for the last 2 days before surgery, then 8 oz/day for a week after.

Note: Hydration is VITAL to get the benefits of TNJ.

Applications: To optimize healing and repair. Also for autoimmune disease like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, MS, and others; tumors, pulmonary fibrosis from many causes, heart and liver failure with some modifications, major trauma and burns, chronic and severe infections, immuno-suppression from HIV or medication.

What is Chikungunya Fever?

Chikungunya fever is a viral disease transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito (Aedes mosquito). The infected person may experience the following symptoms:

- fever
- rash
- severe and prolonged joint pains
- muscle pain
- chills
- headache
- fatigue
- nausea
- vomiting.

The incubation period (the time between the bite by an infected mosquito and the start of symptoms) of chikungunya fever is usually 3-7 days. The symptoms are very similar to that of dengue, however some patients with chikungunya fever experienced fatigue and severe joint pains that last for several weeks. Also, unlike dengue, no cases of hemorrhagic (bleeding) shock syndrome have been reported in chikungunya infection.

What treatment can you get for chikungunya fever?

There is currently no medication or vaccine for the treatment of chikungunya fever. However lots of rest, a nutritious diet, plenty of fluids and pain medication may relieve symptoms of joint pain and body aches.

How can you prevent being infected with the chikungunya virus?

The best way to prevent chikungunya infection is to avoid mosquito bites. Hence, getting rid of mosquito breeding sites is important. Preventive measures are similar to those for dengue such as:

- Using insect repellent on exposed skin surfaces when outdoors, especially during the day.
- Wearing long-sleeved shirt and long pants when outdoors.
- Having well-screened rooms or air-conditioning to keep the mosquitoes out.
- Emptying stagnant water from flower vases, flower pots, roof gutters and watering cans to eliminate breeding sites. Click here for more details on how to reduce breeding sites.

A person with chikungunya fever should stay indoors to prevent mosquito bites to avoid further spread of the infection.

Some useful tips when travelling to areas with chikungunya fever outbreaks:

- Wear long-sleeved shirts and pants.
- Apply mosquito repellents during the daytime.
- Use mosquito coils and bednet if you rest during the daytime or rest in air–conditioned or screened rooms.
- Spray aerosol insecticide indoor.

If you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, you are advised to see a doctor immediately. The doctor may test your blood to detect the presence of the chikungunya virus. If your blood test shows positive for the virus, stay at home to reduce risk of further transmission of the virus. And be sure to have your dose of Noni Juice. :-)

When Is the Best Time To Take Care of Your Health

When is the best time to take care of our health?

Think about this for a moment.

Many of us CHOOSE to do something only when something happens to us.

“Did you take that brisk 30-minutes walk today?”

“Have you taken your servings of fresh fruits and vegetables? How about your glass of Tahitian Noni Juice?” :-)

“Did you do your stretching routines so that you won’t get all the aches and pains?”

How much time do you need to do these physical exercises?

I would say not much, maybe between 30 minutes to an hour each day.

And if you don’t have a full stretch of time, you certainly can break them up into bite-sized chunks of ten minutes each.

Whilst I was training for my fitness test some years ago – this was what I did. I was watching the television and during commercial breaks, I did pushups… I did situps… The result of these small steps? I passed my fitness test with a “Gold” standard!

Be innovative and creative. Try to build these into your daily routine.

Now back to the question, “When is the best time to take care of our health?”

I think you know the answer.

Resolve to do something for your health starting from today. And rest assured, we at AskDrRichardWilliams.com are here to help and lend the guiding hand.
