How can we emulate “Johnny the Bagger” and create raving fans?
Hope this article will inspire you as it had inspired us here at AskDrRichardWilliams.com…
Barbara Glanz is a speaker and author.
A few years ago, she spoke at a convention for a large grocery chain with over 3,000 people attending. Her talk was on creating memories for the customers so they would want to come back. At the end of her speech, she gave out her email address and phone number, and said, “If you have any great service stories, I’d like to hear them.” Well, about a month later, Barbara gets a call from a young man who introduces himself as Johnny.

He said, “Barbara, I heard what you had to say about service, and I like it! I’m just a bagger in the store and I have Downs syndrome, but I wanted to think of a way I could make a difference.
I decided that I like sayings, so each day I’m going to pick out one that I like, and my dad and I will print it out on the computer. I’ll cut out the quote in strips and sign my name on the back of each one. The next day when customers come through, I’ll just drop a strip right in their bags and say, ‘I hope you enjoy my quote of the day.’ What do you think, Barbara?”
Barbara said, “Johnny, I think that’s a wonderful idea!”
A few weeks later, Barbara gets another call…this time from the store manager. He says,
“Barbara, you won’t believe what’s happened at our store. I went out into the store and noticed that one line was three times longer than the others. I went to the back of the line and suggested that customers move to another checkout, and they wouldn’t budge—they wanted to see Johnny’s quote of the day!
In fact, one lady said, ‘I used to come here once a week, but now I come 2-3 times just to see the smile on Johnny’s face when he drops in his favorite quote.’
So the next day, I round up my team and tell them what Johnny has done to give our customers more than they expected. That afternoon, I see the lady in the floral department cutting off her broken flowers and pinning them on the elderly women in our store. Our guy in the meat department loves Snoopy, so he was putting his favorite Snoopy stickers on the packages, and talking to his customers.
In fact, everybody in our store is finding creative ways to put their mark on service. We’re having the time of our lives, and it seems like everyone in town is talking about us! And you know what, Barbara? It happened for one reason…Johnny decided to do something!”
When it comes to service, we all have our unique gifts to give; however we’ll never make the emotional connection with the customer unless it begins in our heart.

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson’s songs.
I was looking forward to his comeback performance in London in July this year.
Unfortunately, Michael has now left us all forever.
His music, however, will continue to live on.
Regardless of whether you like Michael Jackson or not as a person, we cannot deny that he has touched millions of people all around the world.
I would give Michael a five star rating (out of five) in entertaining people as an actor.
And whether you know it or not, Michael’s movement like “Heal The World” has created and raised awareness towards saving our planet and humanity– because he has so many fans, they’re willing to hear Michael’s message.
Michael has also helped to raise fund for many non-profit and charity organizations all around the world.
Now, not everyone likes Michael Jackson and that’s understandable.
Today, when Michael left us - many of us suddenly remembered him.
And I believe (I could be wrong), even those who ridicule him will pause to reflect.
BUT WHY WAIT TILL SOMEONE DIES TO APPRECIATE HIM?
If you want to treat someone well, treat him/her now.
If you want to stop ridiculing someone, stop it now.
If you want to stop being angry with someone, stop it now.
If you want to appreciate something, appreciate it now before it’s gone.
If you want to make someone happy, do it now.
AND, if you want to make yourself happy, DO IT NOW.
Even if nobody dies, time passes so fast and within a blink of an eye, everything changes.
I was just conversing with a good friend, Tony, and he remarked how his mom has aged through the years as he looked at the photos of past years.
You see, Tony’s mom was fit and strong, but suddenly about two months ago, she developed some health challenges and although she has since recovered, somehow she looks different… weaker than what my friend was used to seeing in her.
So don’t take things for granted.
I’m not just telling you, I’m also reminding myself because I’ve been taking things for granted too.
Michael Jackson, rest in peace. You have my respect for your talent, contributions and your heart to ‘heal the world’.
Here’s Michael’s video, “Heal The World”.

Last week I wrote about being vigilant and being prepared for “attacks” on your immune system.
Many a times, we take our health for granted.
We abuse our bodies by eating junk foods… not exercising and not taking care of our health.
Must it take a near-missed situation to jolt us into “Taking Control of Our Health”?
This topic is so vital that I am repeating it below for your attention.

So, what can we learn from the current Type A H1N1 influenza?
1. Always be vigilant
2. Be proactive in managing your health
3. Taking control of your health does not start from tomorrow. It starts from TODAY.
4. Exercise and stretch regularly
5. Have sufficient rest
6. Remember to T-N-J

A cornerstone of the Think and Grow Rich philosophy is that the more you give, the more you get. In everything you do - for your customers, your associates, your employees, your family - practice doing a little more than is expected. You’ll stand out because there’s no traffic jam on the extra mile, and you’ll discover that service to others is one of life’s greatest riches. - Napoleon Hill, 1883 - 1970

Listen to what Dr Williams says, “I have been asked many times, “My medicines suppress my Immune System. Noni boosts immune performance. Won’t noni hurt me more than help me?” The answer is “No”.
Tahitian Noni Juice helps to strengthen and normalize immune functions. It reduces the negative responses of autoimmune disease and also decreases requirements for steroids and other immunosuppressive medications.
These benefits can be clearly observed by the treating physicians, allowing them to make adjustments to the medications accordingly.”

How can you take control of your health?
These steps are very important and crucial to all:
Step 1: Turn off your muscle spasm
Do you know that a tense muscle will press against your arteries thus constricting the blood flow through your body?
The result is nutrients not being delivered optimally to all parts of your body.
For muscle spasm relief techniques, check out Dr Williams’ DVD 3 set here.
Step 2: Next ensure proper hydration
If your body is not sufficiently and properly hydrated, you will feel sluggish and tired.
Have you downloaded Dr Williams’ FREE Hydration Report? You can check it out here.
Step 3: Juice your body with TNJ

Latest Update H1N1 Flu Virus -What have you learned from this near pandemic?
Must it take a near-missed situation to jolt us into “Taking Control of Our Health”?
Many of us take our health for granted.
We eat what we like to eat without consideration of the amount of stress that we may place on our body’s detoxification system.
We don’t exercise yet we expect a trim and fit body.
We pushed our body’s limits to the extreme by not giving our bodies sufficient rest.
…
Resulting in a weakened immune system that may be susceptible anytime to any of the thousands of diseases out there.
So, what can we learned from the current Type A H1N1 influenza?
1. Always be vigilant
2. Be proactive in managing your health
3. Taking control of your health does not start from tomorrow. It starts from TODAY.
4. Exercise and stretch regularly
5. Have sufficient rest

Three things you can do to get out of a rut
1. Recognize that you are very low in energy … and energy is what you need
- Recognize that your slump will pass (it passed before, didn’t it?)
- Try not to be mad at yourself
- Remind yourself how fortunate you are (think e.g. Christopher Reeve)
- If you are worried about a particular problem, imagine the worst outcome and then figure out how you will survive it. This will neutralize the anxiety.
2. Do something - anything - that gives you a little charge.
Examples include:
- Put on some loud music that will “pump you out”.
- Dance
- Smile: Stand in front of a mirror and smile 100 times. The physical act of smiling releases endorphines.
3. Complete a worthwhile task - something useful that has value to you.
The tasks should be relatively small in scope, and able to be completed in a few hours at most.
Did You Know?
Should You Exercise When You Have A Cold? Will it improve, make worse or have no effect at all?
Cold Weather Isn’t The Only Reason Why Hands Turn Cold - It could be a sign of Raynaud’s disease.

From the award-winning documentary, “Playing For Change: Peace Through Music,” comes the first of many “songs around the world” being released independently. This amazing version of “Stand by Me” have me dancing to the beat of the music and brought a smile to my face, and I hope it will do the same for you amidst this Mexican Swine Flu scare.
Watch it from beginning to end—you won’t regret it. This cover of Stand By Me was recorded by completely unknown artists in a street virtual studio all around the world!
Enjoy!

How to be as smart as Einstein?
TNJ has many benefits with the Brain and the Central Nervous System. This can be demonstrated in art with anyone, with a totally normal brain.
The two sides of the brain, the Left and Right Hemispheres do not function in the same way.
In a simplistic comparison the Left side which is connected to the Right hand, is primarily “Details, Order, and Sequence”. The Right side holds “Pattern, Flow, and Projection”.
One side of the Brain will be Dominant and the other Sub-dominant. This is not related to Handedness. It may coincide or it may not.
We function best when both sides work fully and are integrated as well.
Demonstrating the strength of one side and the weakness of the other is easily done.
Stand comfortably Right arm bent 90 degrees at the elbow, palm up. Place a hand under the wrist and have the person gradually push the back of the hand toward the floor harder and harder until using full strength., Then repeat this with the Left arm.
Now have them sit comfortably and stably.
Bring the Right knee up as high as possible and resist being pushed back toward the floor. Repeat with the Left leg as well.
You will have one strong side and one weaker side. This is the way we function most of the time.
Now test coordination.
Bring the Left arm to 90 degrees palm up. Tap the fingers of the Right hand into the palm alternating between the front and back of the fingers as fast as possible. Then tap the Left fingers onto the Right palm the same way. There is usually a very big difference in speed and coordination between the two. Ask about how tired or alert they feel.
Give the test subject 2-3 oz of TNJ, a glass of water then wait for 20 to 30 minutes.
Now repeat the testing of the arms and legs. The weak side will be much stronger.
Test coordination.
The Left hand will be much faster and more coordinated. When asked how they feel they are usually alert and full of energy, not tired.
The increase in strength comes from a stronger Nerve Signal to the weaker side. The same with the coordination and integration of the two sides of the brain. The energy is from Activation of brain function not the kind of Stimulation you would get from Caffeine.
We all need to work and function with both sides of the brain all of the time.
The demonstration can be found in our Take Control of Your Health: DVD Set III.

Thought for the Week: Your Mental Attitude is the Most Dependable Key to Your Personality.
Your view of yourself will greatly influence how others perceive you. If you are a confident, cheerful, positive person, your co-workers, friends, and family will be attracted to your personality. If you are unhappy, negative, and always complaining about your situation, others will be repelled. Even when at times you don’t feel very happy, by forcing yourself to behave in a positive fashion, you will find that you soon feel genuinely upbeat, because your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between an artificial emotion and the real thing. When you behave positively, you will positively influence everyone around you-including yourself.

Here’s wishing you a great week ahead!
A few weeks ago, Susan Boyle was alone and lonely. She freely admitted she’d never even been kissed. And at 47, life had nearly passed her by.

One glance at the poor woman and you would have immediately known why.
After all – haven’t our movies and TV taught us that successful people are always good-looking, intelligent, talented and, well … cool?
And haven’t they also taught us that people who look like Susan are dim-witted, ungifted, worthless – and in some cases, even villainous?
Little wonder that, when Susan dared share her dream of singing on stage, most people only snickered at her …
When she said she would audition for the British version of American Idol, the laughing grew louder …
And when Susan waddled onto the stage and told Simon Cowell that her dream was to be a star, the guffaws exploded into a deafening roar.
Because, after all: Everyone knows that singing stars never, ever look like Susan.
Despite what many people think, fear and courage are not opposites. In much the same way that the words “success” and “failure” are meaningless without each other, “courage” cannot exist where there is no fear.
Your assignment for this week: Name the fear that’s standing between you and the success you dream of – and tell us what you’re going to do this week to beat it!
The first time I watched this movie almost two years ago, tears just flowed. I was inspired by the father’s love for his son and the son’s love, trust and admiration for his dad. It was a story of love, of care, of wanting the best for each another in the family, and along the way motivating each other to give of each others best. It reminds me of dad’s care for me when I was but a young boy.
So… what have we done in loving deeds for our loved ones today?
It needs not be something complicated.
It could be a touch of encouragement, a whisper of hope for the future or perhaps an embrace to celebrate the present moment.
May this video inspires you to have a “Can Do” spirit in all your endeavors too.
“This is the story of Dick and Rick Hoyt, a father-and-son team from Massachusetts who together compete just about continuously in marathon races. And if they’re not in a marathon they are in a triathlon — a combination of 26.2 miles of running, 112 miles of bicycling, and 2.4 miles of swimming! Together they have climbed mountains, and once trekked 3,735 miles across America.
It’s a remarkable record of exertion — all the more so when you consider that Rick can’t walk or talk.
For the past twenty five years or more Dick, who is 65, has pushed and pulled his son across the country and over hundreds of finish lines. When Dick runs, Rick is in a wheelchair that Dick is pushing. When Dick cycles, Rick is in the seat-pod from his wheelchair, attached to the front of the bike. When Dick swims, Rick is in a small but heavy, firmly stabilized boat being pulled by Dick.”
